Michele Michael is the creator and driving force behind this event. It is her passion and dedication to the industry and Long Island that makes this event possible. Director of Commercial Sales and Leasing at MGM Islandwide Realty, Inc. Michele prides herself on her drive to acquire as much knowledge as possible about all aspects of her profession in order to be a valuable resource. She brings genuine enthusiasm and tremendous energy to every project she is associated with. She is a member of and event planner for the Long Island Commercial Network, member of CIBS, and chair of the Melville Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Group. Michele’s most satisfying accomplishments have been organizing networking events for the LICN, creating an atmosphere where commercial brokers meet industry related professionals to do business on LI. Her passion for the revitalization of the Long Island economy led her to create The Long Island Real Estate & Business Renaissance, the largest and most comprehensive real estate event ever held on Long Island.

In a grassroots effort to stimulate the economy on Long Island, I looked at the factors in my professional process that contribute to our economy. I decided that focusing on commercial and residential real estate, franchising and business planning, as well as, construction and development, my colleagues and I held great information that we believe needed to be shared now with Long Islanders.
Franchising and new business development can help many people who have been displaced by the current economy find a new career. Franchises have seen a great increase and interest is up. Franchising is helping those displaced professionals who feel they can no longer rely on corporate America for their livelihood. They can invest in themselves, use the professional skills they possess in a system that is created to succeed. The growth of a franchise on Long Island can help provide multiple jobs per location, in construction of new locations, lighting, electric, employees all while changing the economic forecast for all.
Cost Segregation is a strategic tax savings tool for Long Island companies and individuals who have constructed, purchased, expanded, or remodeled real estate to increase their cash flow by accelerating depreciation deductions and deferring their federal and state income taxes. Many “Mom and Pop” owners have no idea of the savings. Additionally there is information from LIPA and National Grid that will help people save money by taking advantage of grants and saving on energy.
Residential real estate is screaming for reliable information for homeowners regarding foreclosure, loan modification, and short sales, which feed into the subject of credit restoration and debt consolidation. Again, the residential field feeds so many other topics such as young adult housing (which affects our economy), senior housing, special needs housing, first time buyers etc. We have a seminar that will explain senior living options from 55+, assisted living, independent housing, retirement communities etc. Tackling these issues and having the information from Long Island experts is what we need.
We have engaged some of the top professional organizations on Long Island to help us help you. We have the support of: Long Island Builders Institute, New York State Commercial Association of Realtors, Long Island Commercial Network, Commercial Industrial Broker’s Society of Long Island, U.S. Green Building Council Long Island Chapter, Association of Facility Engineers, International Facility Maintenance Association Long Island, Vision Long Island, Association Of Contingency Planners LI chapter, National Association of the Remodeling Industry, all of these important organizations will be providing informational seminars to help educate and inform our community.
